Every Single Perfume I Wore in July
July is one of the coldest months for Brisbane, and I expected to be wearing some of my heaviest, most wintery, cozy perfumes. I did get to wear some, but to be honest I was still very much craving lighter scent profiles. The weather wasn't really playing nicely...
Every Perfume in June
June was a fun month for me for perfume. Even though June - being winter in Australia - is one of our cooler months, we did have a week in Bali for a friend's birthday. So, I got to throw a few "fun, tropical island holiday" fragrances into the mix. As always I do...
Every Perfume I Wore in May
This is my first blog post in this series of trying to understand what I am really wearing. May was a limited month - we were still away for the first couple of weeks after attending a conference in Madrid in late April. So, this isn't fully comprehensive as I did...

I technically broke my No-Buy …and I feel great!
How to make consuming feel good without being excessive I have made no secret of the fact that I think my No-Buy has increased my happiness in many ways. I feel like my relationship with purchasing has completely changed. Lately, I have even been feeling a resistance...
No Buy: No Perfume in 2022
Why No-Buy? 2022 definitely started with a bang for me. So much so, that my credit card is almost smoking from the overuse it experienced in January. Why did I go so nuts? I can't tell you, exactly. There have been some personal stresses, a little bit of anxiety...
The rise of perfume as germ-killing sanitiser for our hands?
In short, yes you can use perfume to sanitise. When it comes to efficacy against the COVID-19 virus FDA recommends that if you are unable to use soap and water, then you should use a hand sanitiser with more than 60% alcohol. More specifically they recommend...

About Me
Fragrance is an integral part of my daily existence. Our existence.
The olfactive senses – unlike taste, sight and hearing – are linked directly to the limbic system. This creates a very powerful connection between scent and emotions & memories.
My preferences are always changing, but Tuberose, Vetiver and Sandalwood are notes that I resonate with very strongly (not necessarily all at the same time) and if I cannot decide what mood I am in, I will gravitate to those.
