Scent Memory | Fragranze, Pitti September 15-17th
I am destined for Europe later this year to get married, honeymoon and revel in the early Autumn sun of France and Italy. Right now I am trying to decide what fragrances I want to wear for the big event and beyond, to create a wonderful scent memory, plus I also want to travel light.
Creating a Scent Memory
Usually, I choose one holiday fragrance that I focus on wearing, and create a ‘scent memory’ – a memory I recall and which transports me back every time I smell that fragrance for years – hopefully decades – to come. To me, this is the best way to remember a holiday or a special time, much more so than a souvenir or trinket that sits on a shelf and collects dust.
This is why I am so excited to be attending Fragranze in Pitti, Florence this year as part of our holiday! It is right at the start of our trip, so I might even be able to discover a new fragrance at the event that I can then wear for the remainder of our travels. What better way to establish a scent memory!
About Fragranze
The theme for the event this year is “Perception Reinvented”, exploring the psychedelic and holographic aspect of fragrances. As Matt and I embark on a new chapter in our lives, I feel this theme is the perfect compliment to the start of our journey.
‘“Reinvented Perception” stages a delicate and constantly evolving balance that connects the present and the future, creativity and technique, language and science, physical and virtual reality, giving life to an immersive and overwhelming experience, capable of redefining our idea of feel, interpret, represent.’
Exhibitors at Fragranze include some exciting new brands as well as some longstanding leaders in the fragrance world:
- Wesker
- Electimuss London
- Linari
- Essential Parfums
- Molinard
- Sora Dora
- Rajani
- Kajal Perfumes
- Aqua Di Noto
- Frassaï
…and many more!
Perhaps I will discover a wedding scent (which I am still on the fence about, but that’s another story). Alternatively, the perfect holiday fragrance that will be the perfect backdrop of memories for the years ahead.
Will I see you there?
