Perfume Declutter Round-Up 2020

I don’t have trouble letting go of things generally but perfume (and possibly some stationary items haha) I struggle with. I made my first attempt at filming The Great Perfume Declutter 2020, I all but gave up. However, after reading some books on decluttering I was re-invigorated to persist.

I followed that first perfume declutter video with a further 3 videos focussed on decluttering my perfume collection. However, as you can imagine, with a total of 4 videos in the whole series it was quite long! By the end it was hard for people to consolidate in their minds what I had decluttered and what had stayed and what I had put on the “probation” shelf.

So…today I thought I would take you all through the final verdict after having had a few weeks to mull over what was going and what was staying, here is the final outcome:

Perfumes Decluttered in the Videos

I am quite pleasantly surprised with myself because though many of those identified for the “Perfume Declutter” pile remained for some time in boxes on the floor of my office, I have not actually moved any of them back into the ‘keep’ pile (although there were a few hairy moments!). The delay wasn’t due to me having second thoughts, I simply hadn’t had a chance to send them on their merry way yet.

Perfumes Subsequently Decluttered from the “Probation” Shelf

These are the fragrances that (as the name would suggest) started on probation in the video, and have subsequently been decluttered from my collection.

Discovery Sets

I am still working my way through a lot of discovery sets but these I felt comfortable that I had sampled these sufficiently to know whether I did or didn’t want to revisit at a later date.

Remaining on “Perfume Declutter Trial” for a Few Months:

Perfumes Moved our of the Declutter and back to the “Keep” Shelf

Although nothing was retrieved from the “perfume declutter” pile. There was one fragrance that I stupidly put in the “probation” pile which is now solidly back in the “keep”:

1. 24 Faubourg – Hermes

Really, this was just a silly decision from the get-go and I must have a had a total brain-lapse. I love this fragrance.
So there you have it!

• 7 left in the “maybe” pile.

Not bad for a first attempt!
Still many more to go in order to reach a more manageable level…
